Memorandum signed on Radio Promin sharing content with the Estonian radio "DRUZI"

Suspilne has signed a memorandum with the Estonian radio station "DRUZI" Druzi.ee on the transfer of in-house content produced by Radio Promin for broadcast in Estonia.

"Cultural diplomacy is very important for us right now, and cooperation with the Estonian radio "Druzi" is an opportunity to express it. Through this partnership we will make contemporary Ukrainian music, Radio Promin programmes and our news available not only to Ukrainians but to all residents of Estonia. And all of this can be conveniently listened to on digital platforms, which are a reality of modern life, where anyone can switch on and enjoy engaging content at any moment convenient for them. So Ukrainian-language cultural content in Estonia is a vital line of communication with everyone who needs it right now for support and a sense of unity with Ukrainians," said the Chairman of the Board of Suspilne (Public Broadcasting), Mykola Chernotytskyi.

As part of the cooperation, Suspilne plans to provide a number of Radio Promin programmes for broadcast: the new Ukrainian music show "Selektsiia", which will also air in Estonia weekly with a one-day delay; music news broadcast every weekday; "Promin Recommends" — weekly; Suspilne News (4-minute bulletins every hour on weekdays from 8:00 to 20:00 and at weekends from 10:00 to 18:00); and the film programme "Vira in Cinema with Vira Syvachuk".

Radio Promin executive producer Maksym Yakovenko: "We are very glad of this cooperation, as it will allow all Ukrainians in Estonia to feel closer and to listen to the radio more comfortably."
For now, radio "DRUZI" can be listened to via the DRUZI.EE mobile app on a phone or tablet. From a computer you can listen on the DRUZI.EE website or through the mobile app, which is available to download on the radio’s website. In the future, the Estonian radio also plans to obtain its own frequencies for broadcasting in the country.

"We are happy to help our friends from the Ukrainian community in Estonia listen to Suspilne news and the best music premieres from Radio Promin. More than 100,000 Ukrainians now live in Estonia — we thank the Association of Ukrainian Organisations in Estonia for the opportunity to be together with them," said Andrii Taranov, a member of Suspilne’s Board responsible for marketing.

Volodymyr Palamar thanked them for the cooperation and for providing this content. We are very glad that Suspilne now has a presence in Estonia, and that Ukrainians in Estonia will listen to news from the Suspilne broadcaster.

"DRUZI" ("Druzi" — "Friends") is a modern digital radio for Ukrainians living in Estonia and Estonians interested in Ukraine. It is also a platform that unites two cultures and lets the audience enjoy both Ukrainian and Estonian music and information. The mission of the Estonian radio "Druzi" is to support a harmonious exchange between cultures and to help preserve and develop Ukrainian identity in Estonia.
