Valuable gifts from Ukraine

Did you know that dreams have a way of coming true? Even if you have to wait a while…

Words cannot express the feelings and emotions we experienced on receiving gifts from our guests.

On 29 September 2022, distinguished guests from Ukraine visited the AUOE cultural centre to hand over gifts of great value to us: books in Ukrainian and two banduras.

Our heartfelt thanks to Iryna Konstankevych – First Deputy Chair of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy, Member of Parliament Solomiia Bobrutska, and personally to Yurii Slyva – director of the charitable foundation “Dobra Sprava”, who not only heads the foundation but takes part in good deeds himself. Now our bandura ensemble will gain two banduras. We are waiting for a third one, which is being restored.

In turn, we told them about the work of the “Nadija” school, which has begun its 25th school year, and showed how we can play the bandura and, even more, sing to its wonderful accompaniment.

Thank you for the warm meeting and support, and for the books and banduras!

Alla Inno-Yakymenko, deputy head of the AUOE Sunday school “Nadija”.
