Ukrainian Youth Association weekend school moves into its own centre at Maneeži 3

The Ukrainian Youth Association in Estonia (SUM) now has a space of its own: last Saturday, its weekend school held classes for the first time in the new SUM centre in Tallinn, at Maneeži 3 (4th floor).

The first day in the new premises was a busy one. In Ukrainian history, pupils discussed the beginning of the Ukrainian national revival and explored their family trees and the traditions of the Ukrainian family. Ukrainian language lessons covered spelling, the sound model of words, essay writing and literature, while Ukrainian studies introduced national symbols, folk crafts, fairy tales and the work of Halyna Kyrpa.

The children also had singing and dance classes and began preparing for a Christmas performance.

The Association of Ukrainian Organisations in Estonia congratulates SUM on its new home and wishes the school many pupils and new discoveries.
