At the end of last week, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Estonia Mariana Betsa (Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Estonia) met representatives of the Ukrainian community on the occasion of the end of her diplomatic mission in Estonia.
The Association of Ukrainian Organisations in Estonia is boundlessly grateful to Mrs Mariana for the support she gave us throughout her term. The Association’s chairman Volodymyr Palamar personally thanked the Ambassador and wished her further success in her diplomatic career. In turn, Mariana Betsa highly praised the work of the Association, in particular its volunteer activities and the projects it has carried out for many years that help preserve Ukrainian culture and traditions – the international festivals “Flowers of Ukraine” and “Northern Star”.
She also highlighted the success of two projects launched this year: the creation of the Ukrainian Film Club in Estonia and the organisation of the festival “Vyshyvanka Unites”, which in her view truly united the Ukrainian community in Estonia and gave all Ukrainians – both displaced people and Estonian Ukrainians – a platform to meet!

Thanks for their significant personal contribution to the life of Estonia’s Ukrainian community and their support of Ukraine were given not only to the Association’s leadership but also to its long-standing members and partners: Association chairman Volodymyr Palamar; head of the creative association “Orpheus” Liubov Laur; head of the Sillamäe Ukrainian community “Vodograi” Larysa Zhytnik; deputy head of the Sunday school “Nadija” Alla Inno-Yakymenko; head of the Ukrainian culture centre “Prosvita” Inna Karaulshchykova; head of the Ukrainian society “Kalyna” in Valga Ruslana Dovha; the pastor for Ukrainian Greek Catholics in Estonia Roman Kikh; and priest of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Tallinn Ivan Khrystenko.
We thank the Embassy of Ukraine in Estonia and Mariana Betsa for the cooperation! The Association of Ukrainian Organisations in Estonia will continue to do everything possible in our country’s struggle for freedom and independence and will keep working on the front abroad, bringing closer our common victory over the enemy.
