Presentation of the project “Resilient Expression: Ukrainian Artists in Estonia”

Last week the museum Vabamu hosted the presentation of the unique project “Resilient Expression: Ukrainian Artists in Estonia”!

Our boundless thanks to Parker Watt for creating this film and for the time devoted to studying Ukrainian culture in Estonia. For every Ukrainian artist now living abroad, art is truly a means of healing, a way to preserve one’s identity and continue one’s culture in another country. This is exactly what Parker tells in his documentary project.

We are sincerely proud that representatives of the Association of Ukrainian Organisations in Estonia became an important part of the film series “Resilient Expression: Ukrainian Artists in Estonia”, which tells of the strength of Ukrainian culture, creativity and spirit.

Taking part in the project were:

• the Sunday school “Nadija” Nadija Kool (deputy head Alla Inno-Yakymenko, teacher Tetiana Klymenko)
• the folk instrument ensemble “Dibrova” Ansambel Dibrova (leader Aliona Duminika)
• the song and dance ensemble “Volya” Ukrainian song and dance group "Volya" (artistic director Yevhen Novokhatnii, chief choreographer – Anastasiia Kozachok, vocal group leader – Kateryna Chalova)
• pysanka-painting master Yevheniia Ohu (Ukrainian creative studio Mrija Ukraina Kunstide Stuudio Mrija MTÜ)

This project proves once again that the voice of Ukraine, our culture and our resilience resound loudly and confidently in Estonia!
