Ukrainian Craft Days 2: how it went

Ukrainian Craft Days 2: how it went

On 16 February, "Ukrainian Craft Days" once again welcomed lovers of handmade craft products!

This time the organisers chose the restaurant SLAVA Ukraina restoran & kohvik, which was recently damaged by fire, as the venue – to support the restaurant's owners and staff!

Friendship Day, celebrated in Estonia the day before, was also a great reason for everyone to get together – Ukrainians and Estonians alike – and support Ukrainian craftswomen and the restaurant.

Guests enjoyed borscht and varenyky and the singing of wonderful Ukrainian singer Ruslana Volkova, and won lots of original gifts from the craftswomen and organisers.

This time the fair featured unique work by 10 Ukrainian craftswomen: souvenirs, knitted toys, jewellery made of glass, crystals and beads, candles and felt items, lamps and bouquets, gingerbread and healthy treats, and, by tradition, Ukrainian books!

We sincerely thank the craftswomen for taking part and for the gifts for our lottery: Oleksandra Phonovska, Irina Ishchenko, Yulia Draiuk, Karyna Samoilenko, Oksana Sorokina, Maryna Shulha, Valentyna Martyshevska, Mariia Tymkiv, Fruitiki and Kolo Books.

As the main mission of the Ukrainian Craft Days platform is to showcase the quality of Ukrainian handmade producers and Ukrainian culture abroad, we are immensely grateful to all the visitors who bought our craftswomen's products and thus supported our craft culture and its promotion in Estonia!

Thank you to MTÜ Ukraina Käsitöö Meistrid and its founder Oleksandra Phonovska for organising the event!

Until next time!
