Today, 15 March 2022, the Ukraine Aid Coordination Centre at the Association of Ukrainian Organisations in Estonia was visited by music critic Artemy Troitsky, well known in the post-Soviet space and now in Europe too, who has lived permanently in Estonia for the past 8 years since the events of 2014 in Ukraine.
Artemy, who is knowledgeable not only about art and music but also about social and political issues – all the more so now that Russia has unleashed a direct war against Ukraine – shared with the coordinators his view of events and, of course, his attitude to them.
Back on 2 November 2015, asked in an interview with Euroradio “How do you see Russia today?”, he said: “It is a dead-end, hopeless, nasty country, ill-suited for life and completely devoid of the elementary rights and comforts of modern civilisation”, and also: “They say the country will sink deeper and deeper into crisis, hang near some bottom for a number of years and then gradually begin to emerge. For me there can be no worse picture than this. I would like Russia to fall apart, for wild animals to appear on the streets. For the simple reason that this means the very changes that Viktor Tsoi once sang about.”
Since then Artemy has not changed his position and his view of the aggressor state; on the contrary, he tries to convey this message to the world through every means available to him.
