Distinguished guests at the AUOE cultural centre

On 23 September 2022, the cultural centre was visited by people well known in their own countries and across Europe – Oleksii Honcharenko, Ukrainian politician and public figure, Member of the Verkhovna Rada of the 8th and 9th convocations, member of the European Solidarity faction, member of the Ukrainian delegation to PACE and Vice-Chair of the PACE Committee on Migration, Refugees and Displaced Persons, and a long-standing sincere friend of Ukrainians, Eerik-Niiles Kross – Estonian politician, diplomat and security adviser.

AUOE Vice-President Liubov Laur and Inna Karaulshchikova, coordinator of the refugee aid centre, had a wonderful opportunity to talk with these outstanding people about the association, its main areas of work and the life of the community during this difficult period for our country, Ukraine. Taking the opportunity, on behalf of Ukrainians who have lived here for years and those who have recently arrived for well-known reasons, the hosts thanked the Estonian state, in the person of Eerik-Niiles Kross, for the incredible help with which it surrounds Ukrainians.

Oleksii Honcharenko, who was charmed by Tallinn’s Old Town, was invited to come back to Estonia again and again to see many more wonderful places.

In a video message to his many followers, Oleksii Honcharenko said:

“Friends, greetings to everyone from the Ukrainian centre in Estonia, in Tallinn!

There are simply wonderful people here. With me is the famous head of the Estonian delegation to PACE – Eerik Kross! Next to me is also Liubov Laur, who has been running this centre for many years. And with us is Inna Karaulshchikova – coordinator of the Centre for Help to Ukrainians at the Association of Ukrainian Organisations in Estonia!

It’s very beautiful. Look – a piece of Ukraine. And we are in great company. Estonia is helping us fantastically. Our children have classes here, and aid is collected for us here. It’s incredible.

Glory to Ukraine!”
