“Shchedryi vechir, dobryi vechir...”

“Shchedryi vechir, dobryi vechir...”

Today, 15 January 2022, the festive hall of the Estonian History Museum was filled with the sound of Ukrainian shchedrivky (New Year carols), performed skilfully, warmly and with great heart by the pupils of the Sunday school “Nadija” together with their teachers.

The carol singers were greeted by the First Secretary of the Embassy of Ukraine in Estonia, Mr Leonid Tretiak, and the Chairman of the AUOE Board, Volodymyr Palamar, as well as the young performers’ families and friends. The hall’s wonderful acoustics gave the Christmas carols a full, spacious sound, so every voice of our performers rang out clearly. At the end of the concert the children received lovely sweet gifts on behalf of the Embassy of Ukraine in Estonia. The children’s musical director Liudmyla Hramiak presented the guests with a lyrical song accompanied on the bandura…

Every such celebration always brings a great deal of positive energy, which is reborn each time in the hearts of the young performers and their families. We are sincerely grateful to the school’s leadership: deputy head Alla Inno-Yakymenko, music and singing teacher Liudmyla Hramiak, and language and literature teacher Tetiana Klymenko – for their great and profound work with the children, for their ability to organise and lead a children’s group, and for the feeling we always have when we see such work: the Ukrainian spirit and the Ukrainian heart live and flourish!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to us all! See you again in a good, friendly circle!
