On 24 February, Estonia celebrated its most important day – the 107th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Estonia.
On this occasion, a ceremonial reception was held at the Estonia Concert Hall, traditionally hosted on Independence Day by the President of Estonia Alar Karis and his wife Sirje Karis.
Association chairman Volodymyr Palamar and MTÜ Ukraina Meedia Druzi board member Inna Hordiienko had the honour of attending the celebration.
In his speech, the President of Estonia devoted a great deal of time to Estonia's security, investment in defence and the challenges of today's world, which only a strong Europe can overcome!
Alar Karis did not overlook the issue of Ukraine:
"We are now experiencing the biggest change in the international security situation in recent history. Ukraine is one of the indicators in this sense. Not every peace is good – giving in to ultimatums or to Russia's wishes will not bring peace to Europe, but will weaken not only Europe but the entire free world, including the United States.
Estonia will continue to support Ukraine. All allies are able to scale up their assistance to strengthen Ukraine's position in negotiations"!
We thank the President of Estonia and the Estonian people for supporting Ukraine! The Estonian people know better than anyone the price of freedom, rights and justice, which they have defended throughout the existence of their state. That is why we feel Estonia's tireless support in our fight for independence!
Together we continue to resist Russian aggression and defend the principles of democracy. Elagu Eesti!
