The morning of 24 February 2022 is always with us, wherever we are. That morning we all woke up to explosions in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Mariupol, Donbas and across the country.
That morning marked the beginning of Ukrainians' heroic resistance. Hundreds of thousands of our defenders went into battle, and millions of Ukrainians around the world united into one unbreakable force. Together we became a shield against the invader.
Kyiv could not be taken in three days, and Ukraine could not be conquered in 3 years. The Ukrainian people have proven that they cannot be broken by bombs or terror.
But this resistance comes at a high price – the lives of Ukraine's best sons and daughters. So today we pay tribute to all those who gave their lives defending our right to be free on our own land!
To all who became victims of the most terrible events in the history of our state!
Three years of terrible grief and lives lost. Three years of unity and resilience, during which Ukraine not only refused to give up but rallied the whole democratic world around it! And we are immensely grateful to all the partner countries that have supported us since the first day of the war and share with us the values of freedom of choice, rights and human dignity.
Among them is Estonia, which stands shoulder to shoulder with us, helping us fight and not give up. Estonia was among the few countries that delivered weapons to Ukraine even before the full-scale invasion began. Estonia has been and remains one of Ukraine's most active allies in providing defence, humanitarian and military aid.
It is symbolic that Estonia celebrates its Independence Day today. The Estonian people know better than anyone the price of freedom and justice, which they have defended throughout the existence of their state. That is why we feel Estonia's tireless support in the fight for Our Independence!
The Association team wholeheartedly congratulates the entire Estonian people on the 107th anniversary of independence! Together with you we celebrate this day and are proud of your achievements. Together with you we actively resist Russian aggression and defend the principles of democracy and peace.
May the cooperation and support between our countries grow even stronger and give us strength in our common fight against the Russian totalitarian regime.
Elagu Eesti! Slava Ukraini!
