On 5 April 2026 the Vodograi Ukrainian community of Sillamäe, a member organisation of the Association, opened an Easter exhibition at its cultural centre. The opening fell on Palm Sunday and became a warm celebration of tradition for children, parents and community members.
The exhibition features works by children and adults: pysanky (decorated Easter eggs), painted wooden egg-shaped pieces, paper birds, festive baskets and Easter wreaths. It was preceded by pysanka workshops on 3 and 4 April led by master Tamara Paskarenko. The eggs made by Yaroslava Chernenko were judged the best.
The head of the community, Larysa Zhytnyk, greeted guests with the traditional Palm Sunday blessing wishing strength, health and prosperity. Participants also recalled what is traditionally placed in the Easter basket and what each symbol means. At the end, every participant received a gift in one of several categories.
The event was part of the Mykola-Fest project supported by the Association of Estonian Cities and Rural Municipalities, while the Vodograi Sunday school is supported by the Integration Foundation of Estonia.
