Ukrainian Saturday at Liivalaia Library

On 26 September 2026, the MRIJA Ukrainian Art Studio, a member organisation of the Association, hosted Ukrainian Saturday at the Liivalaia branch of Tallinn Central Library. The event was part of Estonia's National Minorities Days.

The programme was full. Guests made a traditional motanka doll, “Bazhanka”, with Zinaida Bila and explored Samchyky painting with Marianna Ostrohliad.

In a “Living Library” format, documentary director and producer Alyona Surzhykova, Father Roman, a priest of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in Tallinn, and singer Uliana Olhinia shared their life stories.

Visitors also browsed an exhibition of Ukrainian literature, and the day closed with a performance by the Dzherelo ensemble.

More photos and videos are on the MRIJA studio Facebook page.
