The Association took part in the meeting of the National Minorities Culture Council

On 30 September 2026, the National Minorities Culture Council (Rahvusvähemuste kultuurinõukoda), organised by the Estonian Ministry of Culture, held its meeting in Tallinn. The Association of Ukrainian Organisations in Estonia was represented by Board member Liubov Laur.

Kristi Lillemägi, Head of the Cultural Diversity Department of the Ministry of Culture, and adviser Artjom Tepljuk presented developments in the field and plans for 2027. The company Brand Manual presented the results of a study on the funding model for national minority cultural societies.

Participants discussed the future of national minority cultural associations in Estonia and the role of state support in their work. No final decisions on the new funding model have been made yet: according to the organisers, a survey of the associations will be carried out first, and decisions will be based on its results.

The Association will follow the next steps and encourages its member organisations to take part in the survey once it starts. The position of each society will shape how support for national minority culture is organised in the coming years.

The meeting took place at the Tbilisi restaurant, whose hosts introduced the Georgian community in Estonia and held a cooking workshop.
