Honorary Consulate of Ukraine opens in Narva: new opportunities to support the community and cooperation

On 14 October 2026, the Honorary Consulate of Ukraine, headed by Allan Kaldoja, was officially opened in Narva. At the invitation of the Ambassador of Ukraine to Estonia Volodymyr Boiechko and the Honorary Consul, Vladimir Palamar, Chairman of the Board of the Association of Ukrainian Organizations in Estonia, attended the ceremony.

The event brought together diplomats, local government, the Ukrainian community, volunteers and entrepreneurs who support Ukraine. Among the participants were Ambassador Volodymyr Boiechko, Mayor of Narva Jaan Toots and Estonia's Undersecretary for Political Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Martin Roger.

The opening of the consulate expands Ukraine's presence in north-eastern Estonia. Its work will focus on supporting Ukrainians in the region, developing cultural, educational and economic cooperation and strengthening ties between the communities of both countries.

In his speech, Volodymyr Boiechko stressed the significance of the event for Ukrainians and friends of Ukraine in Estonia. The Ambassador also underlined the close link between Ukraine's freedom and Estonia's security and the importance of continued solidarity in countering Russian aggression.

Supporting Ukraine has long been an important part of Allan Kaldoja's work. Even before his appointment as Honorary Consul, he helped Ukrainians arriving in Narva, provided premises for volunteers making camouflage nets and personally delivered equipment to Ukrainian soldiers. He has also supported Ukrainian artists and helped create a Ukrainian-language audio guide at the Vabamu museum. As a sign of trust and friendship, the Ambassador presented the Honorary Consul with a Ukrainian bulava (mace).

For the Association of Ukrainian Organizations in Estonia, it is important to stay connected with communities in different regions and to develop cooperation with people and institutions that help Ukraine. The opening of the Honorary Consulate in Narva creates new opportunities for such cooperation.

The Association sincerely thanks Volodymyr Boiechko and the team of the Embassy of Ukraine for the invitation and their consistent work in support of the Ukrainian community. We are grateful to the representatives of the Estonian state and local government, volunteers and entrepreneurs for their solidarity with Ukraine and their concrete help to our people and defenders.

We congratulate Allan Kaldoja on the start of the work of the Honorary Consulate of Ukraine in Narva and wish him strength, inspiration, reliable partners and success in this important mission.
