On 17 January 2026 the Kalyna Ukrainian society and Saturday school from Valga, a member organisation of the Association, made an educational trip to Riga.
Participants visited the Riga Motor Museum and learned an interesting historical fact: the Kharkiv bicycle factory grew out of a Latvian bicycle plant that was evacuated to Kharkiv during the First World War. Such pages of history show how closely the fates of our nations are intertwined. The trip continued with a taste of Latvian cuisine at the Lido recreation centre.
The day ended in a festive mood with a performance of The Night Before Christmas by the Art Laboratory and the Ukrainian youth theatre Krok in Riga. The society thanks everyone who helped organise the trip.
