Reception at the Embassy of Ukraine: Estonia to help rebuild Zhytomyr region

In October 2022, the Embassy of Ukraine in Estonia hosted a reception organised by the Ukraine–Estonia inter-parliamentary group led by Arsenii Pushkarenko, with representatives of the Zhytomyr region, which Estonia has committed to help rebuild after the war.

Guests included Riigikogu Speaker Jüri Ratas, Foreign Minister Urmas Reinsalu, Estonian Ambassador to Ukraine Kaimo Kuusk and members of the Ukrainian diaspora, including the Association of Ukrainian Organisations in Estonia and its chairman Volodymyr Palamar.

Ukrainian Ambassador Mariana Betsa thanked the Estonian government and parliament for their unprecedented support. Members of the government confirmed further assistance to Ukraine and participation in the reconstruction of the Zhytomyr region.

Volodymyr Palamar spoke about how the Ukrainian community in Estonia preserves its identity and how the volunteer headquarters set up at the Association on the first day of the war operates. Andrii Bihun, head of the World Executive of the Ukrainian Youth Association (CYM), also joined the meeting and thanked the Estonian government for supporting Ukrainian refugees.
