On 16 December 2022, the Embassy of Ukraine in Estonia hosted a working meeting between a delegation of Ukrainian MPs – led by First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Oleksandr Korniienko and the head of the inter-parliamentary group with Estonia Arsenii Pushkarenko – and representatives of Ukrainian organisations in Estonia.
The Association was represented by chairman Volodymyr Palamar and PR coordinator Inna Hordiienko. The deputy speaker briefed participants on the situation in Ukraine and thanked the leaders of diaspora organisations, noting that coordinated community work is a solid basis for supporting refugees – as Ukrainians in Estonia have shown.
"Estonia was the first to support Ukraine in everything: the first to provide weapons, the first to vote on important decisions in the Riigikogu, the first to provide mobile hospitals and the first to start rebuilding the Zhytomyr region," said Oleksandr Korniienko.
Volodymyr Palamar stressed that this support was made possible by close cooperation with the Embassy of Ukraine and Ambassador Mariana Betsa. The parties agreed to keep working to ensure Ukrainians in Estonia live with dignity and receive all the help they need.
