The Association of Ukrainian Organisations in Estonia received official thanks from the Estonian Ministry of Culture and the Integration Foundation for its contribution to the theme Year of Cultural Diversity.

The letter of thanks reads:

"Thank you for valuing Estonia's cultural diversity and helping to carry out the theme year dedicated to it."
Throughout the Year of Cultural Diversity, events across the country presented the cultures, languages and traditions of the peoples living in Estonia. Ukrainian organisations and creative groups took part in this nationwide initiative, introducing Estonian society to Ukrainian cultural heritage.

For the Association, taking part in the Year of Cultural Diversity was a continuation of many years of work to preserve the Ukrainian language, culture and national identity. At the same time, developing dialogue between communities and the active participation of Ukrainians in Estonia's social and cultural life remain important goals.

This recognition honours the joint work of organisations, creative groups, teachers, volunteers and civic activists who represent Ukrainian culture and contribute to Estonia's cultural diversity.

The document was signed by Dmitri Moskovtsev, head of the Integration Foundation, and Eda Silberg, Undersecretary for Cultural Diversity at the Estonian Ministry of Culture.
