World record set for the largest documentary film screening

The world record for the largest simultaneous screening of the documentary “ZLO” about the realities of the war in Ukraine has been set! 1,749 participants from more than 50 locations in 34 countries joined at the same time: Ukraine, Germany, Canada, the Czech Republic, Spain, Switzerland, Slovakia, Greece, Norway, Finland, Tenerife, Slovenia, Montenegro, Latvia, Moldova, Estonia, Armenia and others.

Both Ukrainians and Estonians came to attend and support the premiere screening organised by the Association together with the library Spilno_ee, on the initiative of Natalya Olyanishyna: Alex Smirnov, Danyl Kurakin, Tarmo Kruusimäe, Allan Teetlaus and others!

In addition, many Ukrainians in Estonia joined online on their own.

According to the film’s producer Larysa Dakhno, the aim of the event was “to draw the attention of the global community to the realities Ukraine faces today and to show how the country is defending the European border”.

“If this film draws the attention of even part of civilised society to the events of the terrible, unjust war in Ukraine, changes the understanding of events and ignites the flame of rejection and resistance to Evil, we will know that our work was not in vain. Just as the terrible, bloody human sacrifice that Ukraine is now paying in fighting the russian invasion is not in vain,” added the film’s director, Olena Moshynska.

The event was organised with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the International Headquarters for Assistance to Ukrainians and the NGO World Ukrainians, and in Estonia with the support of the Association of Ukrainian Organisations in Estonia and the Spilno_ee library.

Everyone could join the fundraiser for facial surgeries for our defenders injured in the war.

Thank you to everyone who values the importance of such initiatives and takes part!

A reminder that on 20 November we look forward to seeing you at a rally to remind the world of Ukraine’s resilience and the importance of protecting the rights of every person. The rally will take place outside the russian embassy to mark a number of important dates for Ukraine and the world:

  • 19 November marks 1,000 days since the start of russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine – 1,000 days of struggle for our freedom, independence and dignity.
  • 20 November – World Children’s Day, when we must remember the protection of children’s rights, especially those affected by the war.
  • 21 November – the 10th anniversary of the Euromaidan and the Revolution of Dignity, which forever changed the course of Ukrainian history. We mark the Day of Dignity and Freedom, the day when Ukrainians stood up for their right to a European future.

Come to honour the memory of those who died, suffered or were forced to leave their homes because of war, repression and crimes against humanity.
