Screening of "My War and Me" | Tallinn

As part of the Ukrainian Film Club in Estonia, we invite you to a screening of the post-documentary film "My War and Me" by Ukrainian director Roman Sadovskyi on 16 February at 16:00 at Kai Art Center – Kino Sõprus Noblessneris!

The director will attend the screening in person and talk about how the film was shot and what he went through at the start of the full-scale invasion, which he met in his native Kharkiv.

In particular, how he was forced to shelter from shelling at the "23 Serpnia" station of the Kharkiv metro, where he spent more than two months.

"My War and Me" is a 10-episode post-documentary film about the first three weeks of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, told through Ukrainians' video diaries that recreate their experiences in different cities and circumstances – under shelling, in bomb shelters, under occupation or in forced emigration. The project involved 100 actors who convey stories created by combining documentary and fictional texts: diaries, Ukrainian drama, poetry, interviews and chronicles. The film shows how war changes people and their relationship with reality.

On 16 February we will show episode 10 of the film, followed by a conversation between the audience and the director.

The screening is organised by the Association of Ukrainian Organisations in Estonia.
