Yesterday the chairman of the Association of Ukrainian Organisations in Estonia Volodymyr Palamar met the Head of the State Film Agency of Ukraine Andrii Osipov.
During the conversation, the parties discussed the further development of cooperation between the State Agency of Ukraine for Cinema and the Association, in particular in cultural diplomacy and the promotion of Ukrainian cinema.
Special attention was paid to the work of the Ukrainian Film Club in Estonia / Ukraina kinoklubi Eestis, founded by the Association in 2023 with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Estonia.
The film club has brought together Ukrainians who were forced to come to Estonia and given them the opportunity to meet their compatriots in a foreign country, share their thoughts, empathise and watch films in their native language.
Our film club has another important mission – promoting Ukrainian films abroad and introducing Estonian residents to the cinema of talented Ukrainian directors.
In the three years of the club's existence, more than 30 films have been screened not only in Tallinn but also in other Estonian towns and even on the islands. But we are moving forward and developing the club's activities.
The parties agreed that further cooperation between the State Film Agency and the film club will broaden its range of genres and themes and strengthen the presence of Ukrainian cinema in Estonia.
