Screening of "Zhytomyr Region in the Struggle: 1000 Days of the Great War" | Tallinn

Dear friends!

We invite you to the documentary "Zhytomyr Region in the Struggle: 1000 Days of the Great War", which will be screened on 25 February at 19:00, as usual at Kino Sõprus, to mark the third anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine and the Independence Day of the Republic of Estonia!

The screening is organised by the Association of Ukrainian Organisations in Estonia together with the BGV Charitable Foundation and with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in Estonia, as part of the Ukrainian Film Club in Estonia!

The film will be shown in Ukrainian with Estonian and English subtitles!

"Zhytomyr Region in the Struggle: 1000 Days of the Great War" is a film about the hardest days in the life of the Zhytomyr region during the full-scale war, which continues to this day. About 1000 days of unity and resilience of our people. About struggle, humanity and mutual support, about true resilience – told through the stories of participants in the resistance during the Russian-Ukrainian war.

The film also tells about the reconstruction of the Zhytomyr region under the patronage of the Republic of Estonia, which was the first to respond to President Volodymyr Zelensky's call to take patronage of a Ukrainian region or city. About projects already completed and planned. About Ukrainians' gratitude to the entire Estonian people for their unwavering support and help!

Among the people featured in the film is Urmas Reinsalu, Estonian Minister of Foreign Affairs (2019–2021; 2022–2023).

The film was made by a creative team led by young Ukrainian film, advertising and series producer Vira Serdechkina, who will attend the screening in person!

24 February 2025 marks 3 years since the start of Russia's full-scale aggression against Ukraine. Three years of shared grief and lives lost. Three years of unity and resilience, during which Ukraine not only refused to give up but rallied the whole democratic world around it! Three years of powerful support for Ukraine from our partners, including Estonia and the Estonian people!

It is symbolic that Estonia celebrates its Independence Day on this very day. The Estonian people know better than anyone the price of freedom, rights and justice, which they have defended throughout the existence of their state. That is why we feel Estonia's tireless support in our fight for independence! Together we continue to resist Russian aggression and defend the principles of democracy.

On this day we will also celebrate the 2nd anniversary of our film club, and on this occasion we would like to invite all our fans who have attended Ukrainian Film Club screenings over the past two years – and we will give away valuable prizes!

We would be glad if you joined us to mark this day together!
