A Person with a Ukrainian-Estonian Heart: The Anniversary of Allan Teetlaus

Today we have the honour to congratulate a wonderful person on a wonderful anniversary - his 60th birthday!

Allan Teetlaus is a person without whom it is impossible to imagine the life of the Ukrainian community in Estonia. His tireless and, without exaggeration, immeasurable volunteer work for the Association of Ukrainian Organizations in Estonia has become a pillar for countless important initiatives and projects.

Allan, you don't just help - you inspire, unite, and give us the strength to move forward.

I want to tell you more about this person: an Estonian who learned Ukrainian almost perfectly - with great respect, depth, and love. And what's more - today he has his own technique for helping Ukrainians master the Estonian language, building a real bridge of understanding between our nations.

Allan is a big fan of the band "Okean Elzy". He goes to their concerts, but doesn't stop there - he does something unique: he translates their song lyrics into Estonian. Thanks to this, Ukrainian music sounds anew in Estonia, revealing its depth to an even wider audience.

Estonia stands firmly with Ukraine - and we feel this support not only at the state level but also in the actions of specific people. People like you, Allan.

In Ukraine, you have already been called a person with a Ukrainian-Estonian heart - for your love of Ukraine, for your sincere desire to better understand Estonians through Ukrainian culture, history, and the essence of Ukrainians.

Today, Allan is working on a very important project - the film "Reflections". It features prominent Ukrainian and Estonian cultural figures and community activists. Through scientific approaches, personal stories, and a dialogue between two cultures, Allan explores the nuances of the Ukrainian mentality, the attitude of Estonians towards Ukrainians, and the impact of war on society.

The main goal of this film is to deepen the understanding of Ukraine in the world and to amplify the resonance of Ukrainian narratives in the European environment.

We eagerly await this film, as we are confident that it will be another important step towards dialogue and cooperation between our nations, strengthening the cultural diplomacy of Ukraine and Estonia!

Thank you for your loyalty, sincerity, and enormous contribution to our common cause. We wish you good health, inspiration, and many more years of doing good together with us. And of course, we know how much you dream of Ukraine's victory, so may that dream surely come true as soon as possible!

With deep respect and gratitude,
the team of the Association of Ukrainian Organizations in Estonia
