Last week, two major summits took place in the Danish capital: the Nordic Ukraine Advocacy Summit and the Copenhagen Democracy Summit
Representatives of the Association took part in these important forums, which strengthen Ukraine's voice around the world!
This was already our second time at the annual Nordic Ukraine Advocacy Summit (NUAS) – this year it was held in Copenhagen for the fourth time!
The summit focuses on how Nordic civil society supports democratic resilience, contributes to security efforts and can cooperate with each other, professional institutions and local authorities to secure a just and lasting peace in Ukraine.
It also explores how the Nordic-Ukrainian partnership can move from ad hoc cooperation to a scalable, coordinated system that brings together civil society, independent media, cultural figures, diaspora networks and policymakers.
Over the years, the Nordic Ukraine Advocacy Summit has grown into a truly strong Nordic-Baltic-Ukrainian platform. It is no longer just a place to exchange views – it is an environment where a shared voice is formed, trust is built and real partnerships are born between organisations working to support Ukraine. We are therefore delighted that the Association of Ukrainian Organisations in Estonia is part of this community!
The two days of NUAS were very intense and substantive. Many honest conversations about challenges, fatigue and resources – but also about solutions.
The first day of the summit focused on cooperation and exchange. We worked in workshops and discussed real experiences of collaboration between organisations – what works, what doesn't, and how to build partnerships that deliver results rather than remaining just ideas.
The second day was devoted to coordination and long-term impact, with high-level speakers from Denmark, the Nordic countries, the Baltic states and Ukraine, and the following panels:
But NUAS is above all about people and connections. About new acquaintances that very quickly turn into cooperation. And about warm reunions with representatives of Ukrainian organisations from the Baltic and Nordic countries whom we met last year and who have already become friends! It is connections like these that lay the foundation for long-term support for Ukraine.
A separate word about the Copenhagen Democracy Summit. The scale, the level of the speakers and, above all, how much and how substantively Ukraine was discussed are truly impressive. It reinforces once again the sense that Ukraine remains an important part of the global agenda.
We return to Estonia with new contacts, ideas and the feeling that our strength lies in unity and trust.
Special thanks to all the organisations that created this space for interaction, dialogue and joint action – this is truly great and important work.
