The Nordic Ukraine Advocacy Summit 2025 opened in Oslo yesterday!

Representatives of the Association, including its chairman Volodymyr Palamar, took part in the summit and joined discussions on advocacy for Ukraine in the Baltic and Nordic countries.

Around 34 civil society organisations from Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Estonia and Lithuania are taking part in the summit.

The main theme of this year's summit is "A New Geopolitical Reality".

Many important panel discussions and interesting speakers. Topics included:

  • new geopolitical realities in the world
  • security challenges for Europe and the Nordic countries
  • disinformation and cybersecurity threats
  • the Nordic-Baltic 8 strategy for a lasting peace

The panel discussion above featured Gert Antsu, representative of the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs / Välisministeerium, special envoy of the European Parliament and former Ambassador of the Republic of Estonia to Ukraine.

A powerful speech was given by the Chair of the Verkhovna Rada Foreign Affairs Committee Hanna Hopko, who called on European countries to act more decisively in supporting Ukraine.

Today we saw once again how important it is for Ukrainian NGOs abroad to work with local communities and authorities in promoting Ukrainian issues. How strong the support of Nordic governments for Ukraine is. And how valuable it is to build and strengthen ties between Ukrainian civil society organisations in the Nordic countries to join forces in the fight against Putin's regime.

Many thanks for the invitation to the summit to Nordic Ukraine Forum, Ukrainalaisten yhdistys Suomessa ry / Society of Ukrainians in Finland and Ukrainian community in Norway – Den ukrainske forening i Norge.
