Yesterday, board members of the Association of Ukrainian Organisations in Estonia took part in a meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Estonia, Mr Volodymyr Boiechko, and his wife Yuliia Boiechko!
In a constructive conversation we discussed forms of cooperation between the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Estonia and representatives of the Ukrainian community in Estonia, joint initiatives to support Ukraine and Ukrainians in Estonia, and presented the Association’s work!
Particular emphasis was placed on preserving and promoting the Ukrainian language, culture and traditions. For our Association this has always been a priority, because culture is not only a way to preserve our identity and bring Ukraine closer to Estonian society, but also an important front in the fight against Russian aggression.
Each of our festivals, our film club, any cultural or educational initiative is an act of resistance and a way of reminding the world who we are and why we are worth fighting for!
This year we are celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Association. Throughout all these years it has been and remains an important platform for uniting Ukrainians and a reliable partner of the Embassy in projects that strengthen ties between the community and the state.
The meeting was also a great opportunity to exchange experience between organisations from different regions of Estonia and to make new contacts.
We thank the Ambassador and his wife for their openness, support and desire to make communication with the Ukrainian community even more fruitful and effective. We are convinced that together we can do even more for the development of the Ukrainian community and for promoting Ukraine’s interests in Estonia.
We will be glad to continue supporting all the Embassy’s initiatives and to be a reliable partner in carrying out important projects.
Thank you to all our organisations and their representatives who joined the meeting, and to those who unfortunately could not attend that day because of their busy community work:
