A Generator for Life: Support “Good People” in Kyiv

A Generator for Life: Support “Good People” in Kyiv

Fundraising campaign to purchase a 100 kW electric generator for “Good People”

Winter in Ukraine is not only about cold.
It is about darkness, silence without communication, and a constant threat to life.

Due to systematic Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, thousands of people in Kyiv are left without electricity, heating, water, and the ability to maintain basic and safe living conditions.

When the power goes out, it becomes impossible to:

  • prepare hot meals;
  • heat indoor spaces;
  • stay in touch with loved ones during shelling;
  • work, help others, or simply not be left alone in the dark.

In these circumstances, electricity is not a comfort.
It is a necessity.

That is why the Association of Ukrainian Organizations in Estonia is launching a targeted fundraising campaign to purchase and deliver an electric generator to Kyiv for the inclusive social platform “Dobri Liudy / Good People.”

Who are “Good People”?

“Good Bread from Good People” is more than an organization.
It is an inclusive community where people with mental disabilities can be themselves, participate in social life, and feel a sense of belonging.

Today, the “Good People” team:

  • employs more than 43 people with mental disabilities, for many of whom this is their first job ever;
  • is developing a supported living project for people transitioning from psychiatric institutions to independent life;
  • bakes bread that is regularly delivered free of charge to frontline regions;
  • prepares and distributes hot meals for people in need across different districts of Kyiv, with the meals cooked by the platform’s own employees.

More information about the organization is available here:https://goodbread.com.ua/en-us

Without a stable source of electricity, all of this work is under serious threat.

Why is a generator critical for this organization?

A generator will ensure:

  • the ability to continuously prepare hot meals for Kyiv residents during power outages;
  • the continuation of humanitarian activities, including bread baking and aid preparation for those in need;
  • stable and safe working conditions for people with mental disabilities, for whom routine, predictability, and employment are essential;
  • the ability for employees to keep their jobs, income, and sense of dignity.

Without electricity, this work stops.
With a generator, it can continue — even in the most difficult moments.

How can you help?

Our goal is to raise €30,000 to cover the purchase, transportation, installation, and fuel for the generator.

Every contribution — regardless of the amount — is real support for those who help others withstand cold and hunger every day.

Solidarity is not an abstract concept.
Estonia has demonstrated it through action many times — and today it can once again become light for those who need it most.

This fundraising campaign is organized by the Association of Ukrainian Organizations in Estonia, following a request from the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Estonia and the non-profit organization “Good Bread from Good People.”

Together, we can bring light where it is vital.
Let’s help Kyiv get through this winter.
