Happy Independence Day, dear Ukraine!

Today is a special day for all Ukrainians around the world! It is a day when we feel in our hearts the strength of our history, the pain of our losses and the resilience of our people. It is the path of generations who dreamed, fought and died for freedom and a state of their own.

Today this struggle continues – not in history books, but before our eyes.

It continues at the front, in every city and village, in the hearts of those waiting for news from their loved ones, those who help and those who pray.

Thousands of our sons and daughters have already given their lives so that we can say: Ukraine is. Ukraine will be. Their sacrifice is a pain we carry every day and at the same time a strength that does not let us give up. We are the descendants of the unconquered and the contemporaries of the Heroes who are writing our history now.

We are grateful to everyone defending our country today, and we know: Victory lies ahead, because Ukraine's independence is the dream of many generations, and it is stronger than any empire.

We believe in a future where Ukraine is strong, free and independent.

Happy Independence Day, dear Ukraine!

This morning Ukrainians in Estonia joined the Independence Day ceremony at the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs / Välisministeerium – the raising of the Ukrainian flag, initiated by the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Estonia.

For the third year in a row, tens of thousands of Ukrainians are celebrating their country's Independence Day in Estonia, which supports Ukraine comprehensively and tirelessly! It is very symbolic that Ukraine's Independence Day almost coincides with Estonia's Day of Restoration of Independence. And it is not just a coincidence of dates. Our countries share the experience of fighting for independence and the understanding that freedom is never given once and for all – it must be cherished and defended.

Thank you, Estonia, for standing shoulder to shoulder with us throughout our struggle! May the cooperation and support between our countries grow even stronger and give us strength in our common fight against the Russian aggressor!
