"Come Back Alive": join the all-Ukrainian remembrance campaign!

Dear activists, volunteers and Ukrainian communities abroad!

The Association of Ukrainian Organisations in Estonia joins the initiative of the "Heart in Action" Charitable Foundation and the "Voices of Captives" project and calls on you to take part in the "Come Back Alive" campaign.

When?

26–29 June 2025 – the days when the world marks the International Day in Support of Victims of Torture.

These are not just dates. This is the voice of millions who cannot speak. It is a thousand days of Ukrainian pain, including those still in captivity.

It is a reminder to the whole world that:

  • Russia systematically violates the Geneva Conventions.
  • Ukrainian prisoners of war and civilians are subjected to torture, humiliation and total isolation.
  • The right to dignity, contact with loved ones and protection is trampled on every day in the dark cells of torture chambers.

How to join the campaign?

Organise a performance or memorial action that:

  • symbolises waiting, pain and resilience;
  • calls on the world – "Bring them back alive!"

Here is how you can do it:

  • go to a central square, the city hall, an international organisation or a symbolic place;
  • set out empty chairs, shoes, signs with the names of the missing, black-and-white ribbons or photos;
  • hold a silent or short spoken performance.

Or – just as importantly – take a photo or video and share it on social media with the hashtags:

#VoicesOfCaptivity #StopTorture #SupportSurvivors #TortureIsAWarCrime #ListenToUkraine #JusticeForTheTortured #EndRussianTorture #1218DaysInCaptivity #FromSilenceToJustice #TheyAreStillThere #HumanRights #WarCrimes #StandWithUkraine #GenevaConventions

Together we will not let the world forget!
