More than 15 million ethnic Ukrainians live outside Ukraine – almost a third of all Ukrainians in the world. Ukrainian diasporas carefully cherish the centuries-old traditions of the Ukrainian people and pass them on to the next generations. Ukrainians abroad do not lose their roots, love Ukraine and gladly speak their native language.
International festivals of children’s creativity are an ideal platform for developing cultural contacts, getting to know world cultural achievements and strengthening friendship and mutual understanding among Ukrainian children from different countries.
Thanks to such events, major goals are achieved in a creative atmosphere:
In Estonia, the Ukrainian diaspora is the second largest of the national minorities registered in the country.
The International Festival of Children’s and Youth Creativity “Flowers of Ukraine” (Estonia) has been held by the Association of Ukrainian Organisations in Estonia and the Ukrainian Youth Association in Estonia since 2001.
Every child who creates deserves the highest recognition of their abilities, efforts and striving for self-expression and personal development through art – the organisers of “Flowers of Ukraine” are convinced of this. On the stage where young artists show their art, there are no better or worse – only unique, gifted children and their talented teachers, so all participants will return from the festival as winners! The festival’s aim is to bring joy, happiness and national pride into children’s lives and let them feel like real artists!
We are pleased to announce that despite the obstacles related to the pandemic, the 21st festival of children’s and youth creativity “Flowers of Ukraine – 2021” will take place after all!
The festival’s gala concert will be held at the Tallinn Cultural Centre Lindakivi on 19 June 2021, starting at 15:00.
This time the audience will enjoy performances by the dancers of the choreographic ensemble “Kolor” led by Nina Gets, the bandura ensemble and pupils of the Association’s Sunday school “Nadija” led by Liudmyla Hramiak, soloists of the UN CANTO vocal school led by Mariia Kondratieva and the KARAMEL studio led by Yana Balakina, talented children of Estonia’s Ukrainian community, and guests from Sillamäe and Maardu.
All festival participants are eager to share their positive energy, skill and passion with you, dear audience – so set your business aside for a while and come on Saturday, 19 June 2021, to the LINDAKIVI concert hall at Jaan Koorti 22. Free admission!!!
