“Mykolai Fest” held in Sillamäe

“Mykolai Fest” held in Sillamäe

For many years “Mykolai Fest” in Sillamäe has been a special event for the Ukrainian community – a celebration that gives children and adults a sense of home, warmth and unity.

At a time when each of us needs support and a sense of belonging so much, such gatherings become a real source of strength for Ukrainians in Estonia: they unite, inspire and remind us that together we can work wonders.
That is exactly what this year’s Mykolai Fest, organised by the Sillamäe Ukrainian community “Vodograi”, turned out to be.

The Association of Ukrainian Organisations in Estonia sincerely thanks the Sillamäe Ukrainian community “Vodograi” for the wonderful celebration held on 29 November at the Sillamäe Kultuurimaja.

Special heartfelt thanks to the head of the community, Larysa Zhytnik, and her deputy Svitlana Stashkevych – for your inspired work, dedication and incredible energy with which you have been creating warm events for the community for many years.

We express our gratitude to all the groups and organisations that became part of the celebration.

The Ukrainian song and dance group “Volya”, the creative branch of the Ukrainian Youth Association in Estonia, gave the audience vivid vocal and dance numbers – thanks to the artists for their high-level performances and special thanks to the ensemble’s chief choreographer Anastasiia Kozachok for her professionalism and love of Ukrainian culture.

We sincerely thank the weekend school Nadija Kool for taking part and for the incredibly touching songs of its pupils. Special thanks to the school’s deputy head Alla Inno-Yakymenko and vocal teacher Karyna Amirkhanian for their work with the children who performed.

The Ukrainian folk instrument ensemble “Dibrova” not only adorned the festival with Christmas carols that the whole hall joined in, but also gave a musical presentation “Ukrainian folk instruments” for the community’s Sunday school. Many thanks to the ensemble’s leader Aliona Duminika for developing and promoting Ukraine’s musical heritage.

Our friends from Kohtla-Järve, House of Friends / Sõprade Kodu MTÜ, also came to support “Mykolai Fest”

“Mykolai Fest” once again brought together Ukrainian families, children, creative groups and guests in an atmosphere of light and kindness.

Huge thanks to the volunteers, organisers, artists, craftspeople and everyone who cared and helped create this event. Thanks to you, the Ukrainian community in Estonia preserves its spirit, traditions and unity.

New Christmas events lie ahead, and the Association will announce them very soon.

Let us stay close, support one another and together keep the Ukrainian heart beating in every town in Estonia
