The decor of the "Vyshyvanka Unites" festival takes you into a world of family memory where every detail has symbolic meaning

This year the ethno-festival is special – we are celebrating 25 years of the Association of Ukrainian Organisations, which has become a home for Ukrainians abroad. That is why the central theme of the festival decor is the family as the core of strength, memory and love. Together with designer Inna Felt, we have built a space with no accidental details.

Each zone is a story told through images, symbols and colours familiar from childhood:

  • "Family Flowers" – the festival's visual concept. Marigolds, violets, hollyhocks – symbols of warmth, support and unconditional love.
  • The "Door of Unity" photo zone will greet guests at the entrance – a symbol of open arms and sincere hearts.
  • "Family Flowerbed" – a bright photo spot with giant flowers representing life and the beauty of traditions.
  • Motanka doll – a separate installation symbolising prosperity and hope for a better future, a powerful sacred object for the Ukrainian people. The colours of its threads are not accidental: red – life and energy; white – purity of thought; green – growth and hope; yellow – abundance and light.
  • "Family Hut" – a fairy-tale zone for children, full of cosiness and imagination.
  • The "Ladder of Taste" leads to the food court – a bright installation hinting at the festival's culinary discoveries.

The whole space is designed with an emphasis on family cosiness: benches, a cottage, a flower garden – everything that awakens memories and warmth.

This space was created so that everyone would feel: you are not alone. You are at home, among your own people.

See you on 18 May at the Estonian Open Air Museum (Tallinn).
