On 16 May 2026 the Nadiya Ukrainian weekend school, run by the Association, was visited by Anna Krysiuk, adviser to the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights and head of Business Woman magazine.
Together with the school's director, Association chairman Volodymyr Palamar, the guest learned about the school's work and talked with teachers and pupils. She brought books for the children and was pleasantly impressed by how Ukrainian children in Estonia preserve their native language, culture and traditions.
She was especially struck by the large motanka doll that stands in the school as a protective charm and a symbol of family warmth and tradition, and the songs performed by the children moved her to tears. Anna Krysiuk thanked the teachers and the whole school team for their important work in sustaining Ukrainian identity abroad.
The visit was one of the highlights of May, which closed the Nadiya school's 28th academic year.
