Nadiya school pupils watch the film Dovzhenko at Sõprus cinema

Pupils of the senior group of the Ukrainian school Nadiya visited Sõprus cinema in Tallinn to watch the film Dovzhenko.

The screening continued a topic the school has been exploring for the second week: the Ukrainian language, its history and its role in preserving national identity. Oleksandr Dovzhenko was an outstanding Ukrainian film director and writer whose work won worldwide recognition and showed the richness of Ukrainian culture to the world.

After the film, the children shared their first impressions and will write their own reflections for the next lesson. As a next step, the pupils took part in the All-Ukrainian Radio Dictation of National Unity on 27 October, the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language.

The school's management thanks the organisers of the Ukrainian film screenings for giving pupils the opportunity to attend such cultural and educational events.
