Dear friends,
We invite you to the screening of the documentary "Da Vinci" on November 22 at 6:00 PM as part of the marathon “Culture vs War: 1000 Days of Resilience,” supported by the Ukrainian Film Club and the Association of Ukrainian Organizations in Estonia.
The documentary "Da Vinci" (directed by Volodymyr Sydko) tells the story of the legendary Ukrainian warrior and freedom fighter Dmytro Kotsiubailo. After experiencing the dangers of the Maidan Revolution as an 18-year-old, he went to the front to defend Ukraine against Russia. Over nine years of war, Dmytro became a legendary commander whose courage and dedication served as an example to his comrades. The film delves into his life story and explores the evolution of his patriotic spirit. It also answers the question of what shaped Da Vinci’s character and how he built one of the most effective frontline units.
The marathon “Culture vs War: 1000 Days of Resilience” marks the thousandth day since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia. Screenings will take place in various cities worldwide, unveiling the events and consequences of the war in Ukraine through the stories of Ukrainian defenders.
The marathon aims to share the truth about the war and its devastating impact on the Ukrainian people, drawing the attention of the global community to the tragedy and heroism of Ukrainians. Each documentary is a testament to the resilience and unbreakable spirit of the Ukrainian people, who continue to fight for the freedom and independence of their nation.
